Match Rules for Club Matches
Strictly Barbless hooks only. Maximum size 12
All nets must be dipped on arrival before going through the gate
All anglers must use carp friendly landing nets. We request one net for silver fish
and tench and one for carp. The fishery used to supply landing nets but has
decided for 2010 to go back to anglers using their own nets because of additional
time needed to check out and check in all nets and it is difficult to keep the nets in
first class order. We therefore stress that all nets are dipped in the dip tanks upon
arrival to prevent disease
When you feel that you have excess of 50lbs* of fish in your net, the fish must be
weighed and released or alternatively small carp could be placed in the silver fish
net i.e. up to 2lb in weight. *Please note the net weight is 60lb on the Dragon Pool
The club is to weigh in the fish at the end of the match. When weighing in the fish,
please use the pull handles of the keep net to draw the lower rings up through the
upper ones for ease of fish removal
No placing of fish onto the pegs/grass without an unhooking mat underneath the net
When putting nets of fish back into the water the angler must lower the fish into the
water and not throw them from a standing height
All left over baits to be taken home or put in the bucket at the finish of the match.
(Near to the gate).
No casting/pole fishing more than half way across the pool into another angler’s swim
Any angler leaving their swim must withdraw his/her rod/pole and line from the water
Never handle fish with cloths or rags of any kind
No floating poles

whole pool, but pay for each peg over this number. For clubs with less than 15

an empty peg between the angler and match angler.
Carp feeding pellet in various sizes is available on site.
