Coarse Fishery/Caravan and Camping Land off Bishton Lane Wolseley Bridge Stafford, ST18 0XD
Carney Pools is situated off Bishton Lane, near to A51 at Wolseley Bridge, on the outskirts of Rugeley, Staffordshire. Grid Ref. SK0320.
Carney Pools consists of two established pools in a picturesque 12 acre setting. The site is fully accessible.
Damsel Pool is 1.3 acres in size, approx 3ft to 5ft in depth.
Dragon Pool is 1.4 acres in size and is 3ft to 8ft in depth.
Both pools are lined with mature and newly planted trees and well spaced fishing pegs. Hot/cold drinks and confectionery can be purchased from the lodge.
There is ample safe parking adjacent to both pools. Cctv on site and fully accessible toilets.
The pools are open from 7am until 8pm. Please insure that you start to pack up for 7.30pm. Gates are closed for 8pm.
Prices 2009: £6 per day, max two rods. £4 for concessions and juniors per day, max two rods.

Hook checks are made Keepnets matches only No Braid All nets must be dipped The fishery insists that unhooking mats are used for all large carp. Please dip mats before use if taken out of your net bag wet. Mats can also be hired from the lodge. Please read all rules as on fishery notice board upon arriving.

Trout pellet Nuts Boilies Bloodworm/joker Catfood/Dogfood Floating baits |  The main species in Damsel Pool are tench, roach, bream, gudgeon, chub and a very strong fishing head of carp around 3-4 lb. This is a great pool for beginner and serious anglers alike and is also available for private matches but these are limited to stop over fishing of the pool.
The Damsel Pool can be booked for club matches with the match record standing at 96lbs.
The Dragon Pool is for the more serious angler with tench to 5lb, roach, bream and perch. Common carp up to 18.9lb have been landed (2008), also mirrors and some nice specimen leather carp.
Dragon Pool was last stocked in 2008 with of carp, up to 4lb.
A learning centre for young people was officially opened by the Mayor of Stafford Borough Councillor Brian Price on 25th July 2007.
It has a classroom/function room that can be used for teaching about angling and conservation.
Carney Pools is working on a nature project with the creation of two wildlife pools. These pools are being developed as a potential community project for able bodied and special needs people, with the help from a junior club known as the Staffordshire Youth Anglers (SYA).
Over the next few months there will be tree planting and habitat creation taking place. This work will be carried out by the SYA club and volunteers.
Try and look out for the "Willow Fisherman" made by the SYA Club Jan 09, if you so happen to pass the site on the train.
